Green tea is one of the staples in my life.  I do not drink sodas…Never have!  They never have tasted good to me and never quenched my thirst.  My drink of choice has been tea.  My favorite thing in the morning is to have a cup of tea.  Actually I can drink it all day long!  I never knew that tea could be so healthy. 

The Chinese believe that drinking tea promotes good health and longevity.  Recent studies investigating tea and health have, in fact, linked tea drinking with positive health effects on cardiovascular diseases, cancer, insulin activity, bone mineral density, arthritis and even cataracts. 

I remember reading and have learned that there are basically two proven ways to lose weight: follow a strict diet and / or burn more calories.  Recent studies show that it may not be the caffeine acting alone, rather the interaction of other compounds called catechin-polyphenols in the tea.  The result of these compounds is that it produces a great thermogengic effect, along with the added bonus of increased fat burning!  I do not know too many people who would not love to burn more fat!  What a soothing way to help control body weight.
